Commercialization of Culture

In my opinion, this is the worst thing that can happen to a culture.

Cultural change is inevitable. It changes with time and technology. It can also change because it commingles with another culture. But vested commercial interests often take a cultural aspect and use it as a selling point. Once it settles down, it goes to the next step - so on until what was existing is so badly distorted or no longer exists.

Just typing this because here, I saw two restaurants that figured "dosa" with Coca Cola (photograph)! How is dosa related to Coca Cola? If anything, dosa predates it by hundreds of years. The restaurant even listed "taste of food only with Coke!". C'Mon!
