Kailash Mansarovar

This video probably should not even be here, but hey, it's already on YouTube!
It's too sacred to to be shared to everyone like this for many reasons. Something similar to "Mystic's Musings". But that book - people need to reach out and read, this is available on a click!
I may never make it to the trip, but this video really gives a glimpse of the immensity of the place. The last minute of the video really sums everything up. The import of those words will truly get lost if you see this as just another mountain!

A Message to Save

Mahesh was traveling in the MRTS service back to his home. A now routine routine, his trip to and from his work now involved a long train commute.

His cell phone beeped. A bluetooth message from Sam. Accept?

Who would send him a message without introduction? The man in his next seat was fiddling with his mobile, but he didn't appear to be too interested in striking up a digital friendship. Ah! a mobile virus. The man's mobile had a virus which was trying to propagate through bluetooth connectivity. His IT analysis did pay off. Smiling, he hit the No button on his mobile. Every once in a while, Sam disturbed him with the same question.

Mahesh had to take the train, then use a bus ride and then a ten minute walk to his house. This used to annoy him a lot earlier, but he got used to it now. He actually enjoyed doing this at night times when the temperature was cooler. He was about to get off the main road into the darker portion of the neighborhood, thanks to missing streetlights. It was a posh area, so there would be less people at this time. The walk would be much more peaceful!

His cell phone beeped. A bluetooth message from Sam. Accept?

Sam again? How could be? The guy next to him in the train. Mahesh did not see his face that time. He was too busy with his book then. Anyway, wasn't it a strange coincidence that the man's destination was the same as his - 28 stations, a convoluted bus trip and then to his dark side street? As he thought this through, his stomach tightened. He was being followed! He did not know how to react. Am I just being paranoid? No, only this would explain the extreme coincidence. And if the man is going to make his move, money obviously, it would be in the space from the main road to my - where only stray dogs could interrupt. Should I stay here in the safety of the main road? He had to however not give away his suspicion. The possibility of the man knowing Mahesh's suspicion were remote.

Why is he not getting into the street? He has to fiddle with his mobile now! Suddenly, Sam grew suspicious. Does he know about me? Naah. In so much crowd, there is no way he can detect a potential follower. Of course, now, he had to be careful as it would be just he and the other guy in the silence of the side streets. How far is his house from the main road? How much time did he have to make his move? His logic had been precise. An IT guy traveling in a first class compartment across two cities. He, of course hadn't expected the man to take a bus. A vehicle parked at the station was more what he had in mind. His plans were more elaborate. He intended to note the vehicle number, find out the address and make a more fruitful killing - not in the literal sense. But the fact he took the bus made his job easier, but the show would end on the same day. Give or take two hundred bucks, we were talking about one thousand bucks in cash, a couple of credit cards, a driver's license, a PAN card perhaps and with any luck, his company ID card as well! That was only his wallet. He was really eying the laptop - any rudimentary sale would mean twenty thousand bucks minimum!

Oh man, he's walking back to the main road! Ah, the shop!

The hustle-bustle of the main road gave him a comfort feeling. His template SMS messages involved a "Call me ASAP" for his colleagues! With his left hand, he sent a message to his dad.

His cell phone beeped. A bluetooth message from Sam. Accept?

Oh God! He is right here! He dare not look back to scan around. That would be a dead give away. And he had to make his move from the shop right away for that would be a give away tool too.
Please papa! Call me. If he received the call, it would give him a few minutes in addition.

Dad calling!

Yes!
It had worked. His dad usually was with his mobile owing to his position in the company.

"It's very noisy out there Mahesh. What is the urgency?"

"911 situation pa. I am being followed."

His dad laughed. He has to be skeptical now!

"Too many thriller movies son?"

"Pa, I cannot talk much now. Please get five people, or more if you can and wait near the corner of Amlu street. If I am attacked, rush in to trap the guy..."
Girl? Naah!

"Wait... how do..."

Now is not the time to explain pa. He disconnected. Mahesh started walking. OK, here goes...

Only a minute or two passed and he could hear another pair of footsteps echoing behind him. His heart was beating faster. Should I turn around? No! just keep walking. Less than thirty seconds to Amlu street. The foot steps were right next to him now. Mahesh felt a sharp sting on the base of his spine. A knife!

"Don't turn or shout, or I won't hesitate to plunge this in!"

Mahesh held his breath. I'll just wait for him to talk. Painfully, he tried to see sideways to see if his Dad was there. Dad, don't tell me you thought I was hallucinating!

"
Just hand over your laptop to me. Quick, I don't have much time or patience."

Wow! He hadn't seen that coming. Damn, I should have backed up the psts. How did I... auto logon is enabled... His mind was splitting with thoughts. Straight to my mail box. Company data... lost laptop... He was getting dizzy. I need more time... Dad isn't here. This is Jason Bourne.
This is Jason Bourne.

Instinct hit him with overwhelming force. He had to buy more time - somehow.

"Sam, this is my company laptop. I cannot..."

Sam almost dropped his knife.

"How did you... my name..."

Mahesh was suddenly relieved to hear footsteps rushing towards him. People with sticks and a familiar figure came close to him. Relief rushed through him as he felt comforting hands on his shoulders. His dad's smell - he know it from a long time ago. He slumped tired on his shoulders.

"You won't hear from him for another five years at least", spoke Mahesh's uncle Ravi. He worked with the police department. "Our interrogation showed that he has stolen laptops in three earlier occasions. You were almost the fourth victim! By the way, how did you find out he was following you?"

Mahesh smiled. "He told me!"

"What?"

"Never mind!"

"So what did you learn from this incident?"

"Always backup your data!"

Mahesh's dad sighed deeply!
