Conquest of Time?

"How nice would it be if I could conquer space and time..." - mused he to the bearded man.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, then I can go wherever I want in a split second..."

"If it took you a split second, you really haven't conquered time. And as a result space."

"Huh..."

"If you conquered space and time, you would be everywhere all the time"

"Huh..."

"You would be Here and Now" - said the bearded man - and proceeded to sit in the Lotus Posture.

Ugly or Beautiful?

The bearded man was walking through a dusty area of the town. A gait that carried with it a freedom only seeking eyes could make out - and long for. As he passed a man drinking tea, the man couldn't resist baiting him with words.

"An ugly looking beard you have there. You know man, you add to the ugliness of the place."

The bearded man stopped to survey him with a gentle gaze. The bearded man had only an accepting laugh to offer to any situation.

"You heard me man? I said your beard looks ugly."

"All I carry here as my body - the piece of earth I am standing on gave to me. All that chiseled the body - the piece of food the earth gave to my body. All that came from me, the power that yields the chisel. Indeed, that power, Life gave me. None is ugly in the Life, save the mind that looks at things as ugly. Look past it, all in Life is beautiful -my flowing beard included."

The poetry must have been too much for the man, for neither could he make out the freedom about the bearded man, nor the fact that the ugliness was turned right back at him. He just kept staring at the bearded man walk away - with a freedom that even the sea breeze would long for.

Why wait for Inspiration? Create it!

Inspiration, after we remove context, is a deep desire to live. There is nothing more to it. Typically, when we are inspired, we implicitly associate context with Inspiration. Inspiration to paint, to learn something, or even to go out for a drive. But once context is removed from it, Inspiration is a throbbing desire to live deeply. For the most of us, we are lost without context. However, what this means is that, we can reverse the equation. Instead of waiting for Inspiration to come to us, we can go to it. If we can throw ourselves into anything we do, without holding back anything, we are Inspired. The context is only an excuse for Inspiration. No matter how attached we are with context - be it singing, dancing, painting - if we can wipe the floor with intensity, it is as beautiful as singing or painting. Really, our Life has meaning only with Inspiration. If we look back, the only meaningful portion of our Life would be when we were Inspired. Anything we cherish from the past belongs to an Inspired moment. So, don't wait for Inspiration. Create it!
